Today's ppt Watch "Isn't Evolution Just a Theory" video clip and discuss, complete Quiz on Science Process and set up new unit in ISN. HOMEWORK: Complete Marking the Text for Water Properties Cornell Notes (CN) on ISN pg 21 (Packet page 2). Water Properties Packet (page numbers for ISN can be found in ppt above). Students will: interact with their Cornell notes by marking the text, creating questions and writing a summary.
Using ISN pgs 4 and 5 follow the instructions for your science process Cornell notes. HOMEWORK: Study for Monday's Quiz. Students will: learn how to write a formal lab report including a graph.
HOMEWORK: Science Process Study Guide and Lab Report due tomorrow. Students will: review scientific process, design and carry out an experiment by collecting and analyzing data.
Watch the following video clips: Independent and Dependent Variables, Controlled Experiment, Ants Can Count. In groups, decide what environmental factor to test a Mealworm's preference using choice chambers. Formal lab report due Friday. HOMEWORK: Study Guide due Friday Students will: set up their ISN to prepare for the rest of the semester.
If students were absent they should come to office hours to get the paper and help setting up their notebook HOMEWORK: Complete the Science Process Study Guide-due Friday. Students will: complete Diagnostic SMT#1 (Pretest) to show prior knowledge.
HOMEWORK: Spiral by Monday and complete Science Process Study Guide by next Friday. Students will: understand the policies and procedures of the class and what is expected of them to be successful.
Review syllabus and class website and sign up for Remind and online textbook. HOMEWORK: Spiral notebook by Monday. Students will: work with a team to create the tallest structure.
Using materials provided, build the tallest structure you are able. Complete reflection questions in Cornell Note Style. HOMEWORK: Have your spiral notebook by Monday. Welcome!
Wordle link. Create a wordle using biology terms you know or find. Print this (in color is best) for your Interactive Science Notebook (ISN). ISN- You will need TWO 1-subject 8.5 X 11 (MINIMUM size) spiral notebooks by Monday. Walmart has them for $.97 but they can be found at Target, Staples, Office Depot. A plastic cover with hold up the best. |
