Using the Ecosystem part 1 ppt slides complete Cornell notes (or write your own). When finished, learn about the different organisms found at different depths in the Pelagic zone slides. Class is also preparing for the Science Convention in the Gym Wednesday, 3:30-7:30. Mangrove ppt Students will: watch Blue Planet: The Deep to understand the specific adaptation of organisms in the deep ocean.
Answer questions for video The Deep Questions. Students will put finishing touches on ocean zone poster and then do a gallery walk to share and evaluate.
Each student will get 12 post its (one for a positive comment and one for a constructive comment on each poster). Students will rotate around to read posters and leave post its on the back of the poster. Students will: identify and describe the life zones of the ocean.
With a partner (ONLY one group may have three OR one person may choose to work alone as there will be maximum of 6 six groups per class) research the zones on the Zones of the Ocean Poster Project using the recommended websites or use the class textbook. Today you will start creating your poster if you finished gathering your information. Poster board is on wall beside teacher desk behind trifold board. Colored pencils, crayons and markers are in white bins. Take your time, be thorough, neat and detailed. Gallery Walk and peer evaluation next week. Students will workshop the Waves, Tides and Currents test with a small group to increase their understanding of the concepts.
Students may retake the test Monday, Wednesday or Friday until Jan 21st. They must first show evidence of studying (ex. flashcards, create a Kahoot quiz, rewrite or diagram notes, etc.). Students will: identify and describe the life zones of the ocean.

Students will work on their Waves, Tides and Currents Study Guide and review as a class to prepare for test.
